At Home on St Agnes

A big thank you to Emma at the wonderful Pot Buoys Gallery on St Agnes for showing my two new paintings. They are views of the most iconic buildings on this beautiful Island in the Isles of Scilly.

The first painting is the enchanting St Agnes Lighthouse – the first lighthouse in the southwest of England built in 1680 and protecting ships from the treacherous island rocks until it was decommissioned in 1911. The second is the former Coastguards Lookout Tower attached to a row of 1920’s coastguards cottages. Part of the cottages now forms the fabulous Coastguards Lookout Cafe, an essential stopping off point on any visit to St Agnes! With both paintings I tried to capture the extraordinary summer light and translucent blue skies that typify the islands.

The Pot Buoys Gallery is the most charming and authentic Island Gallery which my family have visited many times during our summer holiday visits to the Isles of Scilly. I thoroughly recommend calling in when you next visit St Agnes.

The original oil on canvas paintings (framed or unframed) are available through the gallery as well as high quality Gislée prints and greetings cards. Please contact Emma at the Pot Buoys Gallery for further details.
