The Perfect Hideaway

Back to Bristol and two more of my paintings are on display at the lovely Hideaway Café in Stoke Bishop.

Many thanks to General Manager Suzi for finding such a perfect spot to show my two oil-on-canvas paintings of the Avon Gorge.

“Wildflowers in the Gorge” shows a view from Sea Walls looking towards Clifton Suspension Bridge. The stunning  Red Valerian and Western-spiked Speedwell flowers amongst the mixed grasses  made a beautiful foreground to the view.

The Hairy Conservationists” captures two of the Kashmir goats that have been introduced to help maintain the diversity of flora and fauna of the Gorge. Their procession of golden coats caught in the afternoon sun made an intriguing subject for the painting.

The Hideaway recently reopened for business as a superb café but also a Discovery Education Centre for Post 16 Hospitality Training. This amazing group provide specialist and alternative education and training at their centers in Bristol and it is a privilege to have my paintings on display at their Café.
